The TPM area

Toulon

From west to east, the vagaries of history and of architectural styles have made Toulon a city with many identities. Wander through the passages in the narrow lanes of the old centre to happen upon small squares with their refreshing water fountains.

Shopping in Toulon

Provencal markets

Every morning except Monday.

A hubbub of colours, scents and tastes, the street markets are one of the delights of Provence. Stroll along the Cours Lafayette and through the village of Mourillon and let yourself be tempted by the colourful displays of fruit, flowers and vegetables. Local farmers set out their stalls in the Cours Lendrin at the top end of the Cours Lafayette.

City centre shops and the Mayol shopping centre

Toulon is the ideal place to stop off for a spot of shopping. Wander its narrow lanes and you will find yourself popping in and out of the many boutiques and stores, laden with souvenirs, Provencal specialities or the latest styles with that special French fashion touch. The large Mayol shopping centre, open daily except Sunday from 9h30 to 19h30, is also well worth a visit. Do as the locals do, and take time out to savour a coffee on a café terrace in a shady square, to the soothing splashing of a fountain.
